V-scanner does not use the main part of ARC500 so Global Settings, Scanlist Preview, Object Browser nor any menu settings apply. Fact is, you can't even open a vsc file in main ARC. Other software's differ on how they handle V-scanner.

You can however, open the vsc file and edit the opening screen data but as you stated, spacing is critical.

Win500 allows retrieving V-scanner and saving as p500. This will open in software for complete edit.
PSREdit allows retrieving V-scanner and saving as bin. This will open in software for complete edit.
ScanControl works similar to ARC500, meaning only saved but uses vs extension rather then vsc extension. Neither will open in the software.

BTW, Win500 will also open a bin file which is the actual file used by the scanner.
