There are some features of both the PRO164 and the BC346XT (the newer one)(not on RS website but 214.99 at ScannerMaster.com) that are nice to have, but this being the RS forum, I'd wait until the PRO164 goes on sale for 149.99 (or if your lucky it will go down to 129.99 like I got it for) and that will save you a couple of bucks, and you'll have a fine scanner. The PSR300 is really the same as the PRO164, but, I've never seen it on sale. If you ever head over the hill to the Puget Sound area the trunking would be nice to have, even down to the Tri-Cities as Benton Co is on a trunk system as well. As for military air, you do have an air base in Moses Lake that does a lot of parachute drops at the training area NorthEast of Yak. Don't know if you'd hear much, but I've also seen fighter jets flying just a couple hundred feet above the Columbia near Vantage. Anyway, thats my input. Hope it helps.
