Smile PRO-93 programming

If you're going to use the PRO-93, I STRONGLY suggest that you use WIN93 (www.starrsoft.com) to program it. The software is freeware. However, that software does not do "imports". You'll have to manually enter or cut & paste the frequencies.

I am not sure what you are trying to listen to, or exactly where you are; but there are a few issues that could render the PRO-93 useless for you. One is "rebanding". If you are going to monitor a MOtorola type trunked radio system (TRS), many can not be trunk tracked by the PRO-93 after rebanding. Another issue is digital audio. If the agencies you want are digital, you may also need a newer scanner.

I run several PRO-95s (and PRO-97s) here right now and love them, but when my area rebands I will no longer be able to use these scanners for the local trunked systems. The PRO-95 is identical to the PRO-93 but with more channels (actually I have a couple of PRO-93s as well, but don't usually use them).

If web import is a requirement for you, then I suggest using WIN97 or WIN500 and getting one of the scanners those programs are designed for.

Good luck
