I have a few in my fleet with remote heads, and have never had issues programming them from the mic port. I did hear from another service provider that if you purchase some of the aftermarket remote head kits, they have seen them have problems programming trough the mic port. According to them, if you use the Motorola kits, there are no problems. So, in a way, there may be some truth to both sides of this. Again, this is what was told to me. I use the Motorola kits on my radios without any problems, other than the inadvertent user installed the cable in the way of the sliding seat rail cut.
