Default USB-1 and Vista 64 Bit Problem

Has anybody else experienced any problems using the USB-1 cable on Windows Vista 64 bit? I've used it on XP Pro and Vista 32 bit without any problems, but for some reason on the 64 bit OS it causes the PC to blue screen and reboot the instant the UASD tries to acces the port. After the reboot the PC takes a lot of time to recover. It also doesn't seem to like to change the com port number, again only on 64 bit Vista. I can stick in only one USB port and get it to work (as COM6), but if I move it around to any other USB port it refuses to work even if I change the port number back to COM6. It's not a show stopper but it sure is frustrating.

Thanks,
Russell
