Small loops for portables like this are an excellent choice. There are others- amplified ones from Kaito, for example, but how much better they would be than the Grundig one is I have no idea.

Even the amplified ones have the nominal advantages of loops - they tend to reject certain kinds of noise, and (in some cases) you can move the wire loop around to find a quiet spot. In a hotel or motel, that might be challenging to put it mildly, but at least you have that as a possible help.
