Take reviews with a grain of salt, people exaggerate or make statements that aren't really practical operating info...and this isn't referring to the Milf, just reviews in general...particularly eham.net :-).

Too hot a front-end can be very annoying with a scanner...ever use an old Icom R1...totally useless for scanning. Great fixed channel receiver though.

One of the reasons I went Uniden was that a super hot receiver in this area just aggravates things because it is so RF dense. I wouldn't call the GRE excessive though, but their rep is hotter than the Unidens.
