Ran into a couple of little problems though.
First time it ran, the program complained that it couldn't load MSCOMM32.OCX. I downloaded a copy from
http://www.driverguide.com/ and copied it into the same folder as clone246.exe, and then it worked fine. (Driverguide.com is something of a pain to sign up for - perhaps there's a friendlier place to find the file.)
After backing up the BC246T, it wasn't clear what I was supposed to do next. The only button that did anything was the power key - pressing it momentarily got back to the menu and then the scanner was back to normal.
