This is my non-scientific review of this antenna. Found it on eBay for 40 USD. Seller uses ' lz2rr ' name.

As per the auctions description:

>6dBi gain, colinear 4 elements , PCB build, DC grounded

! more than 3 times better coverage compared with 5/8 antenna !

European made quality at resonable price
Affordable coverage & redundancy
Up to 250 NM range with straight view (attached to microADSB IP BULLION receiver)
N female type directly mounted connector
Perfect for use with SBS, Radarbox, microADSB, RTL ADS-B receivers
Mounting kid included.

The 1090MHz ADS-B Omni Directional antenna offered by ANTENI.NET Ltd. is constructed of gray color UV-stable base. It has type N female connectors for direct connection to ADS-B receiver. The horizontal pattern is a full 360 degrees with gain flatness better than 1dB. Because of it’s slimline design and low wind loading characteristics, it is very easy to use with any ADS-B receiver on any place and wether conditions. Mounting brackets for 1"1/4 pipe hor&vert included. Vertically and horizontally adjustable.

Frequency: 1090 MHz
Gain: 6dBi
Azimuth: 360 deg
Impedance: 50 Ohm
Max Power: 50 W
VSWR 1,5:1
Vertical polarization
Wind Survival: 125 km/h
Temperature range: -45 to 60 deg C
Length: 70cm
Weight: 540g
Conektor: N(f)
Box dimensions: 10x10x76 cm

* Coaxial cable is not included in the set. Please, contact us if you need.

I contacted the seller ' lz2rr ' with questions about the auction & the responses were quick, informative, very pleasant, & understandable (so not sure about the grammatical mistakes or errors in the auction description). The seller also vends other products of interest to our hobby.

I ordered this on the evening of June 13 2015 & my trusty USPS official dropped it off today June 24 2015.

The box has considerable wear on it & is very thin & soft but hopefully it made it OK.

NOTE: I am not being compensated in any way shape or form for this review. I have ZERO financial interest here. I'm just a guy that bought this antenna off eBay & reviewing it for the community to benefit from...

As you can see the box came through in rather rough shape...

The one end with the mounting hardware was packed with paper, the other end had nothing for packing. The entire thing was covered in plastic wrap & very well

The U bolts at the end were packed with cardboard pieces, to prevent damage, movement, or jingling noises - possibly all three?

The nuts, flat washer, & lock/split washers are all accounted for. No extras are included, so beware of losing any.

The seals at both ends of the antenna - caps attaching to pipe ends are snug & well sealed. I cannot see any gaps.

The U bolts, nuts, washers all seem to be well made & not cheap.

The mounting bracket seems stout enough, it's not the thickest mount I've seen but should suffice & not add extra weight...

So it made it through shipping OK it appears. I can't feel or hear anything loose in the tube. If I can figure out a way to weigh it properly, I will add that info soon. It feels very light. I expect it will hold up to the Kansas weather. Not a huge fan of being on a hot roof that's just a year old - so not sure when I will get this mounted.

Questions, comments, etc. - Encouraged, please reply below.

Hope you find some value to this review this far - more to come!

Thanks

Thread moved to Aircraft Data Decoding forum although it does fit within the Scanner/Receiver Antenna Reviews forum as well.

Thought more people might find the thread more useful here than there.

Umm.... sorry if this isn't relevant to the "review", but did the antenna actually work? And how well (or not)? I guess that's in the "stay tuned, more to come" part (?).

How does it work?

I'm watching and running out of popcorn too... How does it work?? Can you set it up maybe on a camera tripod?

I vote for demonstration video.

I'm excited to throw this up on the roof also. As soon as I get the chance I will & I'll report back here.

I do have a tripod & that's a good idea but it would skew the results. I noted, in previous tests with other antennas in this area, that my house would dramatically affect the signals I would get. This will be the first time I will have had an antenna like this - as elevated as it will be & as open in all directions. It should be pretty awesome once I get it up.

The enthusiasm here is definitely motivating me!

I had one of these in my attic in my old home and it worked awesome. You will be very happy with the results.

Mine is going into the attic of my new home this weekend...
