The Blue Angels are coming to McGuire AFB in June and I am wondering if they use the same frequencies for the entire season?

Their website states the frequencies are not published due to safety concerns that someone can interrupt their show communications. It would be nice to get the frequencies other people have noted in earlier shows in the 2005 season in time for the June show.

Go to this website. This guy did an excelent job getting all the milair frequencies for the McGuire area.

And don't forget to check MT's article on monitoring the military air shows. It should have a good section on Blue Angels; in fact, I believe that the article is scheduled for updating in this month's issue.

I will be attending the airshow in Springfield, Il. on April 30/May1. The blue angels just recently canceled their show that was scheduled for a base in South Carolina and are now scheduled to perform in Springfield,Il. on these dates. I will post what freq's I hear in use shortly after those dates.

I wonder what their practice frequencies are. I guess I'll just program all of the air frequencies given above and see what they're using. They are currently practicing for the airshow here in El Centro for March 12!

Search all of 200 and 300 in addition to what was given. More scanners the better. I did this and found they were using frequencies not published. Defiantly do listen when you know there in town. They will talk about all kinds of things. Some of which you wont understand they have like their own language. But in my case hearing them talk about how they could not believe how big the town got and how dry it was was pretty cool. :)

Another thing to do is listen in on the day before the airshow. Here, they usually do a "preview show" or "media day show". They also do a breif practice run that allows them to get the "lay of the land". They note diffrent landmarks that are a certain # of miles from "center point" which is over the show line. I've heard them talk about everthing from the weather to what motel they are going to stay in and what they are going to eat for dinner. It also gives you a chance to get your scanner programmed for the weekend's show, not only with their freq's but others that are going to be used as well, such as parachute jumpers, civilian performers, and air show control freq's.

I second Timmer. If you can get near the show site before the big event you can get great info for your scanner without wasting time scrambling the day of the show. Someone mentioned what their practice frequencies would be. There are no practice frequencies. The frequencies they use the day before (Fri) during their final tuneups will be the ones they use during the show. Yes, it is fun listening to them pick out landmarks and such. I have a chance to see them 3 times this year. Pensacola Beach (definitely) , minus those swirly storms, Chatanooga, Tn. (definitely), and maybe drive to Millington, Tn as well. Plus the T-birds in nearby Smyrna, Tn. It's going to be a great show season.

Speaking of the Blue Angels, here is a picture of them on the ground at USNAS Kingsville last year, I'm looking forward to their show this year at USNAS Corpus Christi, Tx. April 9 & 10. I'll be there with my Pro43.

You use a Pro-43 too huh? Thats a very good radio for airshow monitoring. It's been my first to pick up milair. Had mine for 10 years or so now.

At the hairdresser's, past the liquor store.
The USN Blue Angels used the following three frequencies for their practice shows March 29 & 30, 2005 on NAS Pensacola's Sherman field.

237.800 Ground to air weather briefs. Also heard the boss giving commands at times.

284.250 Diamond formation. Boss commands

265.000 Solos & Delta Formation

These are all new frequencies as listed in the March issue of "Monitoring Times". Check this link for others:

Thank you for the info. Can't wait until June when they come to NJ. I am a bit bias towards the Angels since they always have a Marine on the demo team.
