Default Aviation Spectrum Resources Inc.

Found a frequency in Laramie, WY that I wasn't too sure with, and was wondering if you guys could give me a bit more information.

128.9250 MHz is listed as registered to Aviation Spectrum Resources, Inc. out of Annapolis, MD. According to their own information, they manage the En Route Frequency, which this particular frequency would fall under (and does so at half a dozen or so airports in Wyoming).

I can't, however, seem to find much information regarding what the en route frequency is used for. Thus far, I've heard traffic on their local en route fairly frequently, but it seems to be listing numbers down to a couple decimal places without any context as to what's happening. There's nothing listed as an en route frequency in the Wiki (that I could find, anyway), and a Google search didn't turn up much useful information.

If anyone here could give me a wee bit of insight into the situation, I'd be very appreciative.

I think Aviation Spectrum Resources is the new name for ARINC.

Don't take this the wrong way, but you'll need to sleuth this one out.... The freqs managed by Aviation Spectrum are considered proprietary and they aren't going to tell you who has what... enter the fun of scanning! That freq is listed as the United Express Operations freq, for example, at Grand Island Airport (in Nebraska).... Go to flightaware.com and plug in the ID (KLAR) for your airport and watch the inbound/outbound flights and listen for traffic on 128.9250.... Looks like you have Great Lakes Air and Key Lime Air flying in and out on a regular basis, could be one of those or the Fixed Base Operator.... good luck, and let us know what you find!

Groovy. Thanks for the reply. I've got KLAR set as my default airport on FlightAware, so I'll see what shakes down.

Here are links ot some good reading material to help understand the air/ground station infrastructure that AIRINC and ASRI are responsible for:

AIRINC Voice Services Operations Manual
http://www.arinc.com/downloads/13393.pdf

The ASRI ground station manual can be downloaded here - http://www.asri.aero/downloads/groun...ion_manual.pdf

ASRI is a wholly owned subsidary of AIRINC.

Appears this particular frequency belongs to Great Lakes Aviation. I've heard several of their calls using their flight numbers on there, and that's the primary traffic that KLAR sees.
