Default Libby Army Airfield PAR (Audio Download)

Thought you guys might like to hear one of Libby Army Airfields Precision Radar Approaches. The guys still use the old Analog radar scope to guide the planes down on the glideslope.

Libby Army Airfield (KFHU) is on Ft. Huachuca in Sierra Vista, AZ. It is shared with Sierra Vista Municipal Airport but Libby provides the ATC and Radar.

Thanks for posting that. I enjoy hearing PAR approaches. I used for work at a Canadian air force base, it was always cool parking my car with my scanner watching them land a Sea King helicopter using the PAR. I got to see the inside of the radar room with the PAR scopes once, it was awesome.

Yep. I was in the radar rooms and they had the old PAR scope on. They were updating to a dual axis on a computer because of how inefficient the old PAR scopes were, they constantly had to be tuned.

Libby does a bunch of PAR's daily.
