Default Just released, JFK shot / Air Force One and the White House

Tapes of the dramatic conversations between both Air Force One and the White House communications office immediately after President Kennedy was assassinated were finally made public today. One of the calls was between a White House radio operator who had to inform the Secretary of State that the President had been killed and that there was a new leader of the United States.

Thank you for sharing! I'm about 30 minutes in right now. I heard them make at least one reference to sideband. That being said, is this a collection of HF, phones, and VHF? Or is it all HF with an occasional phone patch? It's a little hard to understand some portions due to the quality but otherwise a goose-bump inducing audio clip.

EDIT: Also, does anyone know what freqs were in use? I heard them refer to "triple one" (assuming 11175) and 18027. They also say "upper" after the freq so I'm assuming that means USB

I will listen to this whole thing later, but it is compelling.

I am tempted to make use of a noise eliminating speaker, to try and get cleaner audio.
