here bye sf airport i get a lot of bs from the airlines is that the same everywhere

123.45 is just an unofficial chat frequency between aircraft. There are others that are used as a company frequency - they are harder to spot - SDR# helps with its panoramic display - look at the 130+ portion of the band.

In the real world of aviation whoever, wherever & whenever it was & still is commonly agreed amongst pilots to use 123.45 MHz as an unofficial chit chat frequency by parties very familiar with each other because it is the easiest VHF aviation frequency to remember without having to write it down or even commit it to memory, like it or not it is what it is.
