Just a curious question: Where did you get your information on the Daphne Tower? I have a county radio, and don't know of any tower on the system in Daphne.

To answer the original question: I don't know of any additional info for either Springhill or Wilmer towers at this time. I have not noticed anything out of the ordinary on either my radio or my scanner.

Default Daphne Tower?

I agree with cowboy, who gave you that info? The only thing on Daphne's tower is for the city of Daphne.

I thought Mobile County used the Springhill Tower and that we scanist only have this one tower programed to hear all Mobie County. Is this correct. If not, can someone tell me what to program in for this. Thanks, SSR

There are two main systems for the Mobile Area:

1) A Motorola System that the City of Mobile uses. This includes all police, fire, airport ops, and other junk.

2) An EDACS system that Mobile County uses. It operates on six different towers, but they are simulcast. For example, if you were on Dauphin Island, you would be able to hear the Bayou La Batre tower better than you could the Springhill tower. If Mobile County Sheriff Dept keys up, you would hear the same thing on both towers at the same time. It is simulcast to give the most complete county coverage possible (in theory, anyway) If you are only scanning the Springhill Tower, you aren't missing anything if you stay near the tower. The towers and locations listed in a previous post are correct.
