From what I am to understand from a friend of mine who is a police officer for Gadsden, they are going to be switching to a Motorola P25 sytem in the next 2 to 3 months. He said they will have a second site just outside Boaz for county coverage. The bad I hear from him is that my scanner may become a boat anchor after this is done.

Looks like the County is going on board as well, I found this on the Gadsden Times today.
