Question 952.5975

Anyone have an idea where this frequency is coming from? It sounds to me like control channel data. Or, perhaps some cellular reference?

I couldn't find it anywhere in the FCC database, and the Mercedes-Benz plant have 900mhz frequencies that sound similiar to the one above. Unfortunately, Mercedes does not have this frequency under their license.

I'm hearing it in Cottondale, does anyone know where it may be coming from?

It's in the 928 / 952 Mhz MAS (multiple address systems) band. These can be water, power, gas, or other type of monitoring systems.
In your case, it would be for waste water. The correct freq is 952.59375
Try turning your squelch all the down and step through the 952.00000 to 952.85000 freq range.
These systems do sound similiar to a TRS control channel.

This should be your system:
ULS License - Microwave Public Safety Pool License - WQCZ688 - City Of Tuscaloosa Waste Water Treatment Plant - Paths Summary

Thumbs up

That does sound right. My Pro-197 zeroed in on 952.5975... didn't know the exact step, but it came in strong.

Thanks for the answers!
