Default Skywarn

Is Skywarn monitorable in Alabama and if so what frequencies are they on? I want to try and listen in sometime, but I really couldn't find much on google.

Default Skywarn

In the Bham area try 146.880 (PL 100.0?). Shelby County was on 146.980 at one time and may still use that frequency. Tuscaloosa was on and probably still on 146.820.

If you go to the database here, when you click on a county it will show you the Skywarn frequency. Also check with your local NWS office website as most list them - National Weather Service Southern Region homepage

This is a tad old, but the link to W4CUE will show all the repeaters in use.

You might also look at this, http://www.arrl-al.org/ares_map_ltr_...inal_color.pdf , for a nice printable, color map of the state with frequencies and practice net times for each county.
