Default Couple of questions about the Calhoun-Talladega System

First Question:
Will someone that monitors the Calhoun-Talladega System day to day please provide me with a list of the current Control Channels in use. I have a couple but I want to see if there are others. Whoever can help can PM me here or e-mail me at tayl91@bellsouth.net or kd4lcy@bellsouth.net .

Second Question/Request:
I need someone again who monitors this system day to day to e-mail at the above addresses reference checking something. Nothing sinister, just need to confirm/clear up something.

Thanks in advance for any/all assistance

Cannot be monitored by any scanner on the market. They use OTAR as their encryption. SORRY

Before I get plastered/flamed and/or bar-be-qued about this system, I am not trying to start an arguement about this system, just was hoping for some information so I could update my files.

Control channels are primary: 855.7125 and 856.2625. Secondary 859.2625 and 859.7625. These were the control channels before they went OTAR encryption when I used to listen to them.

Wow... There must be a lot of sensitive areas for them to encrypt everything...

Systems like that are just overkill. It's one thing to encrypt sensitive talkgroups, but NOT EVERYTHING!

Default Encryption

The reason for so much encryption is mainly paranoia. This is dirty Alabama politics at it's finest.
The administrators for this system doesn't want the public to know to what extent they are stealing and misusing the public's money. If you knew what has been going on it is downright shamefull.
They are also hiding their actions from the lawenforcement side of the house.I have people in law enforcement tell me they are ashamed to be associated with this and their hands are tied.

Hello folks,
Sitting here in BHM waiting to fly out. I was visiting Talladega the past 2 days (stayed in Oxford) and was able to monitor some clear comms on the system. Some EMS, Some local PD apparently encrypt the mobile side only.

I did notice a number (6-8) of channels in the 851-855 range that were quite busy with P25 traffic. Had a CC down there too. 852.2625 I believe (gotta check to stored channels)
Not sure if this is a testing simul of the 866-869 channels or not but they were full scale on my 396 just like the 866 freq's. I did notice they were licensed channels. Most traffic was P25E for sure.

No traffic on the state EDACS system. Some VHF DPS activity.

Back to the Philly area where almost nothing is encrypted......Well some of the fed stuff is but that's ok.

That's it!

Dave
