I have the Game Wardens in Alabama using 159.465 with a PL of 114.8. This frequency is/was supposed to be state-wide. Also check RR Alabama State listings under COMMON/SHARED, DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION AND NATURAL RESOURCES and FORESTRY COMMISSION. The Alabama PUBLIC SAFETY frequencies may be used at times as well.
Alabama game wardens use Southern Linc most of the time. Sometimes I hear some brief
traffic on 159.465 here in Jefferson County. If you have enough memory left, put all the freqs
listed in the database in your scanner. Who knows, you might catch some traffic sometimes:
I have, on rare occasions, caught a little traffic on 159.465, no PL, around the Calhoun County area. I too have all those frequencies plugged in and you're right, you just never know what you may hear even if it is just only once in awhile.
They do use Southern Linc for just about everything. When I lived in Morgan County I would hear them often on the Sheriff's VHF frequency, especially this time of year. They used the identifier "GF".
