As far as I know, Phil Campbell and Red Bay have the only dedicated rescue squads in Franklin County, although I'm sure Russellville has one too.

The former two operate on the Franklin fire net (154.3700, 192.8 PL). You'll also hear all of the ambulance services on this freq, along with a lot of interference from road crews(?) coming through the repeater.

I had never programmed the Russellville fire freq (155.8875) in my scanner until this morning and haven't heard anything yet, so I don't know if it's still active or not.

A quick Google search yields a Franklin County rescue squad on East Limestone St in Russellville. But in over a year of scanning Franklin County I've never heard any mention of them. My guess is they are a part of Russellville fire, and would operate on 155.8875 (I just confirmed this is still Russellville's active fire freq). And the repeater system they mentioned is the Fire Net.

Everything else fire, rescue and medical related in Franklin county happens on the Fire Net, 154.3700 - 192.8 PL.

P.S.: Hope you were listening to the Franklin Fire Net and the 49 Repeater tonight, a whole lot of interesting stuff happened in not a lot of time.

No, I don't believe they ever did. It appears to be another case of someone finding a frequency in the FCC database labeled public safety and submitting it without verifying that it is actually used. 90% of the time these end up being labeled "Dispatch".

Phil Campbell PD, along with all other law enforcement agencies in Franklin county that aren't Russellville PD, Red Bay PD, or the Sheriff's Dept., operate on the County Net (154.7850, 192.8 PL). However, they seem to have a lot of problems with this repeater, so they often have to operate on the Sheriff's Net (155.9550, 192.8 PL).
