Default 154.8075 DCS115

I have been transmissions on 154.8075 DCS115 for a couple days with no IDs. This morning I finally heard a complete transmission. It appears this is a repeater output for a "new set up" for the Capital Police. So far I'm hearing "Headquarters" and "CP" units in and around the the Capital complex. The signal is fairly strong here in Tallapoosa County (about 60+ miles from that location). Hopefully some in or around Montgomery can determine the repeater input for this "new set up".

puzzleriddle, sent you a PM. And I'm going to post that info here. 154.8075 is licensed to the State of Alabama under the callsign KA2108. This callsign is the "mobile" callsign for the Department of Public Safety (Alabama State Troopers).

Capitol Police is part of DPS. Before they were merged together, CP had their own dispatchers. Today, they are dispatched by the Montgomery Trooper Post. If you could get access to a Trooper or other State Police mobile radio you would find that they are on listed separately on the radio, but the dispatcher is the same for both.

Sometime last year, the Montgomery post ceased calling themselves "Montgomery" on the radio and started calling themselves "Headquarters." From what I can hear the other posts still go by the name of the city where they are located.

Can't confirm but Montgomery Post radio may not exist any more. In the "old days" Montgomery and Headquarters were separate set-ups. After the merger and moves, DPS Headquarters radio stared dispatching CP as well as handling DPS duties. For a while Headquarters PCO's actually moved to the Montgomery Post but then they went back downtown. So now the Montgomery Post PCO's may have moved to the Headquarters radio room/post. But I'm out of the loop since not working with DPS for years, so I maybe clueless.

I was able to hear the new frequency the other night. The dispatcher said KIB 505. The dispatcher was also calling G-131. Did they drop 154.920 ?? There are a ton of narrowband frequencies under that license as well as two low band frequencies.

KIB505 and the "G" units is the Montgomery Post. Since they dispatch both Highway Patrol and Capiitol Police (separate frequency) that is what you heard. Highway Patrol is still on 154.920.

I haven't heard "Headquarters" talking to the Troopers (G-units) on 154.8075 just CP-units. But with the "new" system, the PCO (dispatcher) could be patching 154.920 and 154.8075 together especially if late at night and if there is only one PCO working that particular shift. The lowband frequencies are what DPS used during the years before moving to VHF highband. For some reason they keep getting them relicensed. And for a sidenote, KIB505 was used by Montgomery and Headquarters in the "old" days.

I talked with a PCO today. They are now located on the second floor of the DPS Headquarters building (old Hospital) downtown. They dispatch both the Highway Patrol and Capitol Police units 24/7. Capitol Police does not have their own dispatchers. Probably a result of Capitol Police being moved from the Department Of Finance to DPS.

I figured that was the case. Before I left DPS talk was ongoing about combining Montgomery Post and Headquarters Communications. The "old" CP dispatchers/PCOs were folded into DPS when the "merger" happened.
