Default Alabama Power on MURS

Late wednesday after the storm blowed thur were I live there was some down power line down the road
from my house. About a hour later my Close Call hit on 154.5700 ( MURS 4) with a PL 114.8. Then
later 3 big Alabama power trucks and a regular Alabama power truck came by the house and it was
them I had been hearing. I heard them talking tell they got now in Phenix City on the 280 bypass to
stop and go eat supper.

Doesn't surprise me, joejo95. That would explain the usage of MURS frequencies here in Tallapoosa County recently after some power outages. Years back rumor had it that the Lincs were useless for some APCO crews. I know that the Lincaround feature was added but it's a pain to use. i know that Pike Electric crews are still using they low-band stuff. I heard them on low-band working near my location (actually next door). I'll look back and found the frequency and post it here.

How much power does MURS radios put out? I heard them again today out past the dirt racetrack
near Crawford Al. checking on bad meters. Thats has to be at best 10 miles from my house.

When Alabama Power was on 451.450 mhz years ago and they said get hot 54-10 I knew my power would be back on. Wish they would go back to the repeater and dump the Links.
