Yes council voted back in June of 2014 to spend $4 million to build one. Motorola Solutions Inc got the contract. I was told by someone on the council it was to be P25 Phase I and build out by June 2015 but that was at lest 6 months ago.

I have had been running Pro96com on my desktop for over 3 weeks and have not logged
anything. Will post when they go live.

Just looked at the Channel 9 story, that leaves me with the impression that they are going to start using something like Southern Linc or Nextel or something along those lines. I have no other information on it though. I don't know if they'll be using P25 also or sticking with what they have now and enhancing it. guess we'll see.

If I was you I would wait to buy anything tell we see if there going to be using Phase I or Phase II.

I agree although I may as well get something Phase II compatible. Opelika has gone all digital and I think just upgraded to Phase II. I'm assuming (yeah never do that) that it is only Phenix City that is changing and that Russell Co. will stay as is for the time being at least. I guess sooner or later it will be an all digital world.

Opelika is Phase I. Phenix will likely be Phase II based on the number of frequencies licensed. The emission designator gives it away though.
