I bet Skagway police is the enc channel. Was it full time encryption? Any ALMR hits? Also, are you still down there?

Not sure if it's full time encryption on that channel due to limited time I had listening.
Was doing other stuff and didn't catch any clear radio traffic. It wasn't very busy on that freq (Small town).

When I was there about a month ago I found Skagway PD using search, they were full time encrypted and not on the ALMR system. I heard little to nothing on ALMR the whole day I was in Skagway.

I am not 100% sure but I think the frequency was 155.595 in digital mode. I did not save it or text tag it because it was 100% encrypted.

As you guys probably know by now, that 155.595 is licensed to Skagway for Public Safety use with emission designators typical for digital/P25.

I don't see any license for Skagway with this frequency. Are you sure you're not hearing 155.5875, which is a Juneau ALMR voice frequency?

In the link from the first post, I did see that frequency in there. I think Juneau would be a bit too far away for that voice frequency to carry to Skagway. Though, I've never been down that way, so Im speaking from a purely theoretical standpoint.

Otherwise the closest license is Wrangell, which is even farther south. It could also be in Canada!

Well, that license does have a special condition with something about the repeater being shared with Canada? You may wanna take a look at it. That's how I read it. I've found sometimes there are some discrepancies between the license info on here and the actual FCC website.

OK, LOL, well, we're just going around and around about this. I think it's definitely a legit and in use frequency. So what was the problem to begin with? :)
