Default Help with Fairbanks ALMR

OK, color me stupid, but none of the "control" channels seem to do anything. Am I doing something wrong ? I don't use software to program my Pro 96, just doing it by the database found on RR... I tried programming in the control channels only, and got nothing... the other channels listed on the database are the only ones that you can hear voice transmissions. I thought only the control channels were needed ? Help !

Well, the first step is getting the software because you need it to properly program the Pro-96. There's no way around it unfortunately. You can't program the Tables needed from the keypad.

Here's the link for the software:

larry, I see you are monitoring the ALMR in fairbanks, I found all of the information, settings frequencies on this website, but have no idea how to enter them into my pro-96, could you look at the website and give me some direction on how and where to enter these settings. I have ScanCat Lite.

Last I checked, ScanCat Lite doesn't work very well with the Pro-96. Especially it won't let you enter all the Tables settings you need to make ALMR work with your scanner. That's second hand info since I haven't tried that particular software. I personally would recommend getting the Win96 software: http://www.starrsoft.com/software/win96/default.asp

Totally agree. All the scuttlebutt I've heard says the same story - and there's been threads about this in the software forum. SCL is junk in comparison to Win96. 'nuff said. 73s Mike
