I live down in Missouri but am planning a trip up to Anchorage at the end of June. I wll be in anchorage for approx 10 days and then will be travelling by train up to fairbanks. I was wondering if you all could help me out with gathering up the frequencies that would be most active while i'm in Anchorage and Fairbanks. I'll be bringing my Pro-96. Thanks for the help!
AST, Fairbanks PD (North Pole PD is dispatched out of Fairbanks), Fairbanks Fire, maybe north DNR(probably have a huge forrest fire going by then) Ft Wainwright is still in the open I think. Eielson is mostly encrypted. That is all that listen to.
You can scan all the fire depts in Fairbanks on analog freq's and pick up what calls they go on. I would scan for Fairbanks,North Star, North Pole...They get a bunch of calls. Airport in on analog. all others are on ALMR
