Default Site question for ALMR scanners

I have been experimenting with getting my Pro-96 scanner to handle ALMR well. I know the scanner is programmed correctly because I hear traffic, but it's hit and miss. I hear traffic that is obviously referencing previous transmissions that the scanner did not pick up. I have my scanner configured to scan 2 banks, 1 with about 4 analog frequencies, and 1 with ALMR. I am trying to figure out if scanning the other bank is missing some of the traffic, or if I don't have the sites programed in the correct manner. I have put in just a few sites that are near my location. My question is, do others have a large amount of site frequencies programmed in, or just a few? My thought was that putting a lot of sites in would take too long to scan, but am I short changing the scanner with too few choices? Any input is appreciated.

The way I have it programmed is to have all the control channels I can receive from my area and separate each on with two conventional frequencies. That way each site will be scanned. Something like:

174.0000
174.0000
154.6625 - CC
174.0000
174.0000
154.8250 - CC
174.0000
174.0000
156.1375

and so on....

One of the reasons as to why you'll receive transmissions that seem to have already been in process is because that's just the nature of the beast. Unless you stay paused in one channel of interest, you'll miss stuff as the radio is scanning everything you ask it to. But you'll also miss other stuff if you stay in one channel. Win some, lose some I guess.
