YAESU VR5000 Receiver - Intermittent Reception & No Noise

Maybe I have kept this receiver for quite a while without using it, I recently noticed it sometimes cannot pick up signals and even the squelch is opened there is no noise. Nothing wrong with the antenna, internal loudspeaker or the power supply(both AC adaptor, DC powerbase). Any advice from VR5000 owner ?
