Question RELM RPV 599A Two Tone Signal Problems

I'm having trouble getting the TTS function of the radio to go off when we are paged out. I have it set up on Channel 1:

Rx 155.880
Tx 154.815
TTS is set to ON
TTS rx code is set to 1 (Edited with software)
Tone A = 484
Tone B = 331

The actual tone is 483.5 and 330.5 but the radio doesn't allow the . in the numbers so I have to round up. I don't know if the number rounding has something to do with it or not. Also, I'm not sure how long the tone duration is. Does anyone know if the frequency has to be exactly right, and if the tone duration has to be exactly right before it will work? I'm new to this whole thing. Any help would be most appreciated.

Default TTS Functions

You can have the numbers for the tones rounded as they are, but you do need to have the length between the two tones identified in the software programming. You can listen to your pager or scanner and time the length of space between the 2 tones, then enter that in your programming software in seconds I think it is. I have several items programmed that way on my rig and it works just fine. You'll want to check in your programming software under the Global Radio Settings/Common For DTMF & TTS/Call Alert/Transpond: make sure it is either set to CallAlert (Beep) or Call Alert (Ringing). It will take a second for the radio to respond to the TTS on a call, and I have noticed that if the radio is in scan mode, it won't work as it locks up on receive, but won't activate. If I want to use the radio as a pager, I select the channel programmed with the 2-tones on it and take the radio out of scan, placing it in manual, stopped on that given channel. Hope this helps you.
