Winradio question
I am looking for information on the new Winradio WR-G305 w/ the APCO 25 decoder.
I have used the GRE PSR-600 for over a year with all the top software control packages on the market. I am generally satisfied with this product for frequencies above 420 Mhz.
I am getting ready to purchase a second unit, however, I have some problems with RF overload in the VHF lowband and VHF highband segments of the spectrum. I believe this overload is due to the close proximity of a VHF hi & VHF lo analog TV transmitters. Maybe on Feb 17th I will find out for sure.
Anyway, I see the Winradio product WR-G305 w/ the APCO 25 decoder. I have owned a Winradio 3100i for close to 10 years and I have some reservations. When I purchased the original unit I selected the internal one because the manufacturer told me the modem for remote operation was just around the corner. When it came out years later it was only compatable with the external model. A few years ago I purchased the trunking option, however, I needed 15 khz. steps which the module does not due. I was told the next upgrade will have that capability I am still waiting on that one. I also contacted Winradio via e-mail about the APCO 25 decoder and the compatability with my 3100i. After asking multiple times I was finally told the module will only work with the WR-G305/315.
I want to make an informed purchase. I would appreciate any information. Thank you
