Default Any experience with the Sitex Nav-Fax 200

Does anyone own, or otherwise have experience, with this radio?

My Wife really enjoys SWL world-wide SW broadcasts. I am a ham, but I enjoy SWL more arcane signals (especially data streams).

I am in the market for a new SWL radio. The Palstar R30A seemed to be the only thing available in my price range until I discovered the Nav-Fax 200. I probably should wait for the new AOR 7070, but there is just too little information on that receiver to convince me it will even be available this year. I have considered an SDR, but the Yahoo Groups dedicated to each of the individual SDRs are just filled with posts that indicate the SDRs are very still very fiddle-y, and they are not portable - unless you want to carry a laptop.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Havent Used that radio, but have you considered the Icom R75? or Icom R1500 (which can be controled by PC or External Control Head) which technacally could be portable used with a battery or in a Car.

I can vouch for the Palstar R-30a as a general shortwave, portable reciever. I have one and it really performs. No real bells and whistles, but it does hear quite well from longwave right up to 10 meters.

Heres a video showing that radio: YouTube - Palstar R30 Recvr On Shortwave VL8T - A71EM - VOA - AFRTS
