Of the new Yupiteru MVT-7500 with dual receive AND SD card support.

They also have the MVT-5500, single receive and no SD card.

After an email to Jonathan Clough, It does not look like they will be available outside Japan.
Here is his reply:
<PASTE>
As things stand at this moment in time we are not aware of Yupiteru
having any plans to "export" these new models - they certainly don't
seem to have any plans to produce "CE" approved models for the European
market - as far as we and others with the end of production of the
MVT-7100 and MVT-9000 models a few years back Yupiteru had ended their
relationship with scanners although the MVT-7300 and MVT-3400 remained
on their website - a result we assumed of them having remaining stock.

The launch of these new models came as somewhat of a surprise.

Currently we are looking into sourcing a few from our contacts in Japan
however they do not have continuous coverage as some of Japanese
"private" frequencies are blocked and we are not aware of how or if it
is possible to restore full coverage - there are also no English
instructions according to our agent so we have a little work to do at
present.

Things may change in the future though.

Nice catch! Happy to see they are alive and well in the receiver market.

Funny that all the labels are in english, but it's not available for export.

Interesting! A tone detector for JP rail. Wonder if it would work on other tone sets?

JR & KYANSERA function signal corresponding empty railway line <br> KYANSERA with a convenient blank line signals the wireless receiver of the railway. JR 300Hz-3000Hz 100Hz Non-JR railway companies (300Hz ~ 3000Hz 100Hz can be set in units) are also supported.

Must have a discriminator output too because it will work with ACARS: KG-ACARS Fans of the popular free software in response to KG-ACARS aircraft radio.

Love the microSD card for memory idea.

Yes finally!!

A scanner that takes commonly available flash memory cards!

But the sad part:

Products of our company are aimed at the use in Japan, They cannot be used in foreign countries.

Shame really.

When will this concept catch on elsewhere?

When enough people want it and the scanner manufacturer can see a profit in doing it.
