Default Regency K100 touchpad

This is going to be a real shot in the dark, but some of the buttons on my nearly 30 year old scanner are starting to get "touchy" and I was wondering if anyone knew if a replacement was available. I am very technically adept and could replace it myself... if I could find one!

Scott - good morning.

Your only chance is if someone has one of these in there junk box
and even then you can't be sure it will not have the same issue.

There was on eBay that had a starting price of 99˘, but as it usually goes over there, it jumped to over $20 in the last 5 minutes! It is almost 30 years old and its only real function at this time is to feed my local PD to RR so it really doesn't affect the functionality. Its just one of those things that bugs me!

I guess its time to switch to decaf!

What does the touch pad look like? I've got a couple that I harvested from my Touch M400s that might work in it.

Call me old school but I love those old Regency touch pad radios/scanners.

Edit, I see what keypad that is now. I've got an older R1060 or something that uses the same pad. Might be a pita to harvest and my scanner works, so...

You may be able to disassemble and clean it. Go slow.

I appreciate the help and suggestions. Right now there is one eBay with a starting price of $9.99 + $11 for shipping which is kind of steep and there is no guarantee that this guy's 30 year old scanner works any better than mine (even though his doesn't look like it has been out in the garage for the past 20 years like mine!) For the time being it is being used for my RR Live Feed so it is just sitting on 1 channel so at least it is being put to good use (until the local PD goes digital - whenever that will be!)

Quit being cheap and fix the damn thing. Guess you could adapt a old DTMF pad.....

Default I may have one

I have acquired two vintage scanners at the Dayton Hamvention the past few years...

I believe one is an M400, the other may be a K100.

If you can PM me with a photo...I can see if it's a match. It does work, but gets soo bad with squelch on my antennas I took it out of my lineup.

I'm not looking to get rich off of it, either.

Let me know if you are interested. Maybe you've got some little gadget I may want to trade you for it...

Whatever works...

Scott:

Sorry, I do not have the same model. The unit I have looks similar to the line of two way mobiles Regency put out in the early 80's. It doesnt have any identification marks on it.

Good luck in finding one.
