Uh. Maybe you're looking at the number thats associated with a PL tone? So, 12 is... 100.0 ?

My guess is that's your PL tone, which would be 100.0.

Otherwise, you'd have to show me where you're looking at that. The number "12" doesn't tell you much.

Andrew, it does appear that HotVW is asking for the PL codes, but doesn't know it. My friend Google led me to this site which seems to use numbers that correspond with the PL tones.

HotVW, you need to find the PL/CTCSS tones listed in the RR Database, and then use the chart on the above link to convert them to the number.

then i guess you dont know much about relm radios.

I use them every day. I program mine whenever I need too. You're the one not able to tell me what the "12" means. I've told you what it likely is. Relm's (I'm assuming you're talking about a 599 or such here) require the tone be entered directly (IE: 103.5, not "13"), so....

Here's a theory - I don't know anything about the area in question, but he keeps mentioning that it's a "repeater" number. Could it be that certain repeaters have certain CTCSS/PL codes enabled? Here, the police have multiple sites hey can access, which they know as a letter-number combination. For example, B2 and B7 are the same frequency but two different PLs, 123.0 and 131.8. So a regular user of the system might know it as simply "B2" or "B7". Or, in this case, "repeater 12".

If that makes sense, then the issue stands - the original poster needs to figure out what repeater site 12's properties are. There must be a PL code or something similar in there.

EDIT: After looking at the link posted above, I stand corrected - yes, it is the PL code as listed on that website. I concur that "12" = 100.0.

It definitely must be hard to explain, because I don't understand. You just specified the frequencies. What everyone is telling you is that the other set of numbers you seem to need are the CTCSS/PL codes. These aren't automatically defined.. it all depends on the installation the radio system is using. Just because one agency uses PL 100.0 on frequency 167.535 doesn't mean that all agencies use that same setup. You can have any PL code or no PL code at all. It depends on the way the system was designed/set up.

Ultimately, the solution is going to need more information on your end. Saying "I need the codes for counties in Tennessee" and "It's 159.948 and 164.932" is not exactly helpful. Imagine saying you need the phone number for a company in Tennessee. "Come on, guys, it's 1-800-something. Help me!"

I have a question, though - if this is 'your' system, can't your company provide you with the proper information you need for the radio programming?
