If it's a 6 meter duckie like the one Comet sells (actually it's a tri-bander) it's possible (I've done it myself, but I was living in a 4 story condo at the top floor at the time, so I had a height advantage...). However with a small duckie like what comes with most handhelds - not completely out of the question, but pretty close. Those things are so lossy at 6 meters that a wet noodle might almost work better

So I ended up buying the Diamond M685SNMO. Received it Friday afternoon and had it on the car before it got dark. Now all I have left to do is mount the radio and tune the antenna. Will post some photos once I can.

MFJ makes a Firestick type also. Not sure what part of the band it's cut for, I just bought 2 and their adapter to make a horizontal 1/2 wave diapole antenna for mountian topping.

I haven't heard anything on 6M, but I can pick up a 29.620 repeater from New York state in Arizona on my PSR-500 with the RS 800MHz duckie.

I wish there were active 6 meter repeaters here in central Texas. 6 FM is a lot of fun. Here is a link to a wide area 6 meter repeater in Syracuse that is cross linked to a 10 meter machine at the same site, maybe you can work through it if you get some tropo enhancement?

I'll have to program that in and see if I can bring it up.
