Default Opek UVS-300 - Part Information Request

Hello group;

This is a shot in the dark, but thought I would give this a try. I bought an Opek UVS-300 base antenna and attempted to put it together today and found that there is a set screw missing from the connection between the top and centre sections.

By chance, would anyone know the size of this set screw? I have emailed Opek, but not sure how quickly they will respond.

Apparently this model is marketed by Jetstream and Workman if that helps at all.

Thanks in advance for any and all help!

Can't help you with the part your looking for but I will offer up a suggestion for this particular antenna. Make certain you water proof it well between the sections. If not it will get a ton of rain water inside it and will eventially get into the coax also. You should hear back from the opek folks fairly quickly. They seemed very responsive to the questions I had for them.

Thanks Skypilot007. I have read on many sites/forums regarding the need for sealing the joints. I will heed the advice.

Thanks again!

I have the same antenna. It fell and broke a bunch of stuff. I called them, they refused any money, had the parts to me in less than one week.

You just don't see that kind of service anymore. I also put up a comet 300 antenna while waiting for parts and it was no match for the OPEK, the Opek got far more range and far better ears.

Do seal all joints well, mine cracked on the top piece when dropped (I fixed it myself), I didn't see it, it got a lot of water and ruined the caps. They sent new ones free. Prior to that, I had it all sealed and had zero water problems, it's a must do and the only fault I could find with the antenna. The guts of the antennas are all prety much the same. Mine has taken 50 MPH winds and continous 45 MPH winds with no problem.
For the price, it's a lot of antenna. Some bad talk them, but if sealed, they are as good as any other and over 2 times less than the same model the compitition makes.

My Best, John

Default Opek UVS-300 parts request

Good evening Gord,

I have had good luck getting information for my Tram 1481 which is the same as the Workman/Opek UVS-300 from Craig at the following email address: service@k1cra.com. You can go to his website directly to get his email contact as well. Hope this helps!!

On another note..........if anyone has a drawing of the Antenna Pattern for this antenna, I would love to get a copy of it!!!
