Default Can you help identify this portable antenna?

Can you help identify this portable antenna?

The images are video screen captures from YouTube videos of a ham that participates in S.O.T.O (Summits On The Air). The antenna is on a 6 section telescopic mast (with quick clamps) maybe 18’ which he carried in a backpack, including the tripod. In the video(s) he was working 20 meters.

The closest brand and model I found for the tripod/mast was a MFJ -1919EX.

As far as the antenna itself, I have no idea.

NOTE: I did send the ham an e-mail asking him what the antenna was but he hasn’t responded.

I've been following the Buddipole since it was first released and I've never seen one that looks like this. The tripod is wrong as is the mast to element adapter, the elements and the coils. Basically nothing resembles the commercially sold version.

You may follow the commercial ones but this clearly a home brew modeled after the buddipole. if you google mfj tripod you'll see many just like the one pictured. just for chits and giggles i wound a pair of coils and used 3/8 aluminum rods with surprising results on 20.

The person whom posted the video of his antenna just sent me an e-mail. He said the tripod and antenna as from NewSuperAntenna.com. The antenna is the YP-1

Thanks to all those whom replied to my post !

I have one of those and it works pretty well. If you have the 20m coils installed and tuned it is also resonant on 6m. I tend to use some parachute cord and lift it into a tree rather than use a tripod.
