Default 148.500 on ICOM IC-2100 (Minden, NE)

If I turn my HAM radio to 148.500 it sounds like someone has an open mic. I don't have a license so I can only RX. Is there a way to tell if this is an actual person or some computer?

Thanks in advance,
CJ

If you're close to a church you could be picking up a wireless microphone.. I hear quite a few driving around this area..

Have you tried listening with another radio ?

It could be a "Birdie" for the IC-2100, or it could also be something inside your house/neighbors
