Default Kenwood TH-K20A freq set?'s

Good Day,
I am new to site as of this evening. I have just purchased my first handheld. I have read through the instructions and haven't figured out how to set the frequency. I tried setting the step to accomidate the freq that I need. I am trying to set to 144.148. I can't get it to the 148. So what am I doing wrong or not understanding? Thanks in advance.
Jayson

I guess you are trying to use a mode other the FM, since 144.148 Mhz is not a valid frequency. Your HT won't operate on this frequency based on the step sizes in the Manual.

Still have alot to learn obviously. No pirate just wanted to learn how to program radio, SOO WHEN I DO COMPLETE!!! I will be ready. I learned the error of my ways today as a matter of fact. I had the frequency wrong in the first place. As stated above. Thanks again.

If you keep trying you will eventually get it!! Step 1 enter frequency Step 2 set the offset either plus or minus Step 3 enter the pl tone......get the picture? Like I said if you need help pm me I will try!

No but I don't think anybody would go for pirate radio or somebody not having their license. This is a great website!!!
