Default TH F7 and DSD decoding

HI there, I had the opportunity to test a Kenwood Th F7 using the packet output connected to the Soundcard and DSD to attempt a decoding experience. I selected the proper TNC out in the menu...but It seems that nothing happened. Did I miss something? Is that model suitable for decoding or not? I thought that the packet output is similar to discriminator output. Any suggestions to solve the issue?

Many thanks for your help

Pippo

This thread does not belong in the Kenwood forum. Please take a moment to read the forum descriptions before posting within them. Thanks! Thread moved.

For discussion of land mobile radio products manufactured by Kenwood. This is to include the TK(R) and NX(R) series radios and their associated accessories. This forum is not for the TM series; use Amateur Radio Equipment.

I would be led to believe that the radio would have to be in 9600 baud mode to act as a discriminator tap (Manual page 45)

n TNC
If you want to utilize the squelch status on your
TNC, access Menu No. 9 and select “TNC”. From
the TNC, make the interface cable that connects
to SP/PRD, MIC/PKD, PTT, REM/SQ, and GND
on the transceiver SP/MIC jack terminal. In
addition, if your TNC supports 9600 bps packet
(G3RUH/ GMSK 9600 bps modem), access Menu
No. 28 (PACKET) and select “9600” bps. This
option allows you to transmit/ receive packet
signals in a direct FM modulation/ quadrature
detector output. You must use the A-band to
transmit and receive 9600 bps packet signal.

The following diagram shows the available
terminals on the SP/MIC jack for the TNC.
