Default Kenwood TH-D72A

I got my D72 last night. I tried playing with it a bit. I updated the firm ware. However the menu and A/B (band selection) don't seem to be working. Everything else seems to work fine. Any ideas? I am going to contact Kenwood later today if I can't get it figured out.

Did you try the owner's manual or maybe google?

Everything I have found in the manual seems like you should just be able to push it and go to the menu. I have looked using google to see if anyone else has had this issue but I haven't found anyone so far.

I contacted Kenwood and they said I need to return the radio. I also found out that theantennafarm.com is not an authorized dealer for Kenwood so I don't know what happens if they say to bad. We'll see.

I see no reason why antennafarm.com wouldn't honor the warranty?

I wouldn't ether but after calling several times with no luck and a recording that said they had heavy call load and to email them and they would contact back with in a few min typically with no response for about 6 hours I was a little worried. I sent 2 emails to the support email address. They did not send back till I sent a 3rd email to the sales address and that one was answered in about 30 min. Ether way it seems to be getting taken care of so I am happy. I am waiting to hear back about RA# and where to ship it to.

I could access A mode. A and B mode can transmit and receive. It can be set for one to transmit and one to receive (each can do ether) or both can do both or one can be set to do both and one to do only one.

I've owned a TH-D72 for over a year now. No problems with the radio.

Yes, a simple tap of the MENU key should take you into the menus. However, is the radio's keyboard locked? Do you see an icon on screen of a skeleton key? If the keyboard is locked, press and hold the F key for a couple of seconds.

It was unlocked. I was hoping it would have been something simple but no such luck. I can't wait to get a properly working one in so I can learn how to use it.
