UV2D and getting manual when programmed?

Ok, I have a Wouxun UV2d that a friend programmed the local repeaters in. Now how can I switch back to manual search and just turn my dial and check all frequencies?

The bad news is....You don't. The Wouxun HT's don't have a VFO, so you're limited to whatever frequencies are programmed into them. Study your manual, and practice the basic menu operations to become familiar with them.

The programming software is also a HUGE help, but it's to your advantage to know how to perform the basics unless you have a laptop to drag around with you to change the memories.

If this is your first HT, you would have been better off spending the extra money and getting something like a Yaesu FT-60.

Basically, got to 'freq' mode and start twisting that knob. That varies the VFO which this HT does have.

Tim,

Press the orange MENU key, then the green TDR key. This toggles the radio between "Channel Mode" (memory presets) and "Frequency Mode" (VFO tuning). I think you made a fine purchase, but I own many Wouxuns. :-)

Thanks so much for the help. I knew it was just a setting,, just couldn't figure out that manual

I stand corrected...I have an older UVD1, and the manual that I got with it sucks. I always heard there was no VFO on the Wouxuns. They are decent radios. Apologies all around....

I can go to freq mode on my 1D that is just like a VFO
