I picked up a use B-23 amp and I have a question about transmitting with the amp not powered up. Am I able to transmit thru the amp without causing damage to the HT I am using. Also will it transmit with out power on 70cm?

Thanks
Wes

If there is no voltage going to the amp, you can transmit UHF through it no problem. It would be invisible to the radio, & antenna.

The vast majority of amplifiers will allow current to flow through them when they're not turned on. I have a 2 meter amp in my truck and when I transmit on 70cm, the relays simply don't switch and the RF passes right through the amp no problem.
