Hello all,

Can anyone here help with a Link-Comm RLC-2A controller?
Mine will not accept/ act on any DTMF commands.

I have tried a power on/off reset with no results.

Can anyone suggest a course of action?

I tried joining the yahoo group that deals with these controllers but the group owner does not respond to my request to join.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Shane,

Is the controller in service and stopped working or are you attempting to install it found it won't accept commands? Also, do you have the manual?

Off hand, the most common issue for controllers not acting on DTMF commands is the lack of COS.

The controller has been in service and operated normally for a long time. Recently it just stopped acting/accepting DTMF commands. It has normal COS. The repeater is fundtioning. Just cannot make the controller do anything.

I went over to the RLC Yahoo group and looked for similar issues. Indeed there was one other with an RLC2 that wasn't decoding tones but all else was working. Unfortunately he never reported back what was done or corrected. Below is the crux of the dialog between him and the RLC guy -

Also they refered to this link: Troubleshooting DTMF Decoders - RLC Controllers - Support

There is a DTMF valid LED on the main board that flashes when DTMF tones are decoded, usually the cause on the RLC-2 is pin 1 is grounded on the main port connector selecting the control channel input, or the audio levels have changed.
