Stephen's adapters get very positive reports from just about everyone who's tried one. These adapters have a hard rubber ring around them that seats against the radio to take some of the bending stress off of the connector itself.

Do you know if any of the online dealers sell them? Or an eBay store?

Thanks

I like and use the Diamond brand one. It's a low profile, model # BNCJ-SMAP. It's shorter than most and it's black so it doesn't shout "adapter" in use. And price is much more reasonable.

I have one of the Diamond adapters and it works well with the Kenwood and Yaesu handhelds I've tried it with.

Another good one is the adapter that comes with the Uniden portable scanners. It may be available separately from the Uniden store.

Looks like it would work. I have not used one though as my VX-2R and VX-3R still use their original antennas. VX-7R, I have an adapter I bought through Tessco several years back.

Some older Astro Sabers had similar adapters on them too. Had to get those through Motorola though.
