Re; 220mhz mobile
I was just talking with a local here on our 220 machine last night,he asked me if I had heard about these.
Nope, but looks interesting now that I've seen some specs!
My boss and I love 220mhz,so it looks like maybe one of might be in the future.
Price is not bad either!

I would buy one if I didn't already have Alinco and Yaesu 220 radios.

In the grand scheme of things, that's pretty cheap.

I am a big fan of jetstream power supplies also I bet these radios are a beauty now I wish for a 2 meter or dualbander or maybe even a tri-bander 2 meter, 220, and 440 ham radio and give it a SSB option now were talking

I've heard from another ham that the jetstream antennas and power supplies have had a poor track record, but I personally have not owned any equipment from them yet,but $240 for a new 220 radio with 50watts and ctcss encode/decode is reasonable. I suspect that this radio is probably manufactured by kenwood or alinco with jetstream's name on it.
After a product review is done,I'll mull it over...maybe.

I was just thinking that... if so that would explain the wideband receive lol.. listen to the whole band at once without changing the freq!

Jetstream supposedly puts out 50W and has an optional programming cable. The Alinco DR-235T puts out 25W and is not PC programmable. They aren't the same radio. They don't even look the same.

Considering the microphone is IDENTICAL along with alot of similarities on the display including fonts, icons and placement, yeah id say its kinda close
Just because they gave it a blue backlight and a slightly redesigned faceplate and a new PA, doesnt mean its NOT a rebadged alinco..
hell for that matter how do we know this and the alincos arent BOTH made by the same OEM?

Even from different OEMs, microphone cases and LCD displays are probably from third party manufacturers and could be common.

I did a bit of checking in to jetstream's history and resources, and I'm now pretty sure that they did not produce this radio themselves. I highly doubt they could do the research and development that's needed to produce this. So it's anybody's guess at this point.

Jetstream items are made by various mfg's and rebadged with the Jetstream name. I own several items, including a 28 amp supply, and all have been excellent. Also, I've been told, by an excellent source, the folks at R&L also own Jetstream.
On the original topic, the Alinco products and the Jetstream radio have enough similarities that I would bet they are made by the same people.

If you already have an Alinco maybe you should compare it with picture of the Jetstream.
It clearly has an Alinco microphone, it has the identical button and sub function layout as the Alinco, it even has the same "data" jack on the front as the Alinco. It looks like it's an Alinco board with a redesigned (badge engineered) front panel.
