10 meter opening

I hope what I heard on hf a little while ago is true, I haven't checked the ARRL, but I was made aware a little while ago that 10 mtrs. will open on Sunday Aug 9 , peak at 1-2 am Pacific time and close on Thursday because of the Perseids Meteor shower. You'll hear a "ping" on your radio and you'll have approx. 45 seconds to do a qso. Treat it like a Contester. This Meteor shower is the reminance of a comet that last past the earth in the year 1610. The odds of hearing the ping, is 50-50 but if you do, key up and bounce a signal off that piece of dust the size of a grain of sand! Good Luck, I'll be there as well.

10 was rockin' here until 10pm last night. I made a bunch of great contacts. It was very cool propagation, all over the place in the lower 48.
