Default won $50 fro ARRL.org... what to buy...?

i won a $50 gift card at a hamfair... i am not sure what to order... i am a tech ticket holder

i was thinking for sure the ARRL repeater directory..

also maybe vol 7 of the ARRL antenna compendium...

just looking for some other good beginner or just some good books to have handy...

I would buy the General and Extra license manuals and upgrade.

I would totally agree. Amateur radio is far more fun on hf and the different operating modes only expand your horizons. Quite often, the more you know about your chosen avocation, the more you will get out of your efforts in self-improvement.

I second the vote for study guides, if your not interested in upgrading though the Antenna Book or Hand Book are good references for your bookshelf. Nothing more fun than building antenna's and putting them up to find out they work as good as the commercially available ones.

I would buy the 2010 edition of the ARRL Handbook. Most of it will probably be way over your head at this point, but it makes a fabulous reference book. Yes, its expensive and most hams I know don't buy one every year, but since this one will basically be a "freebie", I say go for it!
