Default FT-60R Software

I have been trying to find software for my yaesu radio. I have seen two types of software, one from yaseu and one one from a ham who has made one(Commander). What do you use for software and what are the pros and cons. This is my first yaseu and so far I am very happy with it.
Thanks

I had a FT-60 for 4 years and used nothing but the Commander software. It works fine and supports, from what I recall, just about every feature in the radio (including the odd Tx/Rx splits, which was important to me for satellite work).

I recommend you check this site. This guy's software is extremely well liked. I use his software for my FT-8800R and like it a lot.

I use both the Yaesu ADMS-1J and KC8UNJ Commander programmers. They are both quite good, although I really prefer the Commander, but keep duplicate files in both. When I create a new file or make a change, I just duplicate the file by uploading the information from the radio to the other program.

Default Software I use for my Yeasu

I use the ADMS (RT Systems programmer RT Systems Radio Programming Software) software for my VX8 for now. It works for me. Though I've only recently just begun using it as I first wanted to know how to proram the radio on the fly so that if I am somewhere without my computer and cable I could still do it. Same as with my scanners I use the software available for them to program and tweak - but I still can do it manually for the same reasons.

I have seen the commander software from G4HFQ and thought about checking it out but I don't have any real experience to talk about. He does have screen shots at his website G4HFQ Radio Programming Software , and he seems pretty active in coding updates and fixes.

The software interface to my radio ads yet another dimension to my fun - as I can "play" with the organization of my saved freq's tweak the the tags for the frequency names as well as the banks I store them in - and then create different sets of banks, link banks for scanning etc. as well as capture my radios basic set mode settings.

THe ADMS software is fairly easy to use - its alot like the scanning softwares for my pro-106 meaning if your familiar with object oriented programming for like PSRedit, ARC500 or WIN500 you will feel right at home.

I think you would be better off just picking one and trying it out - Get the correct calbe for your radio and yo should be good to go. I do think that the Commander software is less expensive that the Yeasu/RT systems so that might be the best path to expieriment with.
